Projekta apraksts:

Latvijas atbilde pandēmijai 2020. gada pavasarī bija lietotne “Apturi Covid”, kuru bezprecedenta sadarbībā radīja IKT uzņēmumi un zinātnieki – brīvprātīgi un bez maksas. Pēc epidemiologu aplēsēm, pat ja tikai 15% iedzīvotāju (286 200) to izmantotu, tas būtu liels atbalsts vīrusa izplatības ierobežošanai. Tomēr liela daļa sabiedrības bažījās, ka lietotne radīta iedzīvotāju izsekošanai, un nevēlējās to lejuplādēt.

Project description:

The Latvian answer to the pandemic in the spring of 2020 was the Apturi Covid app, developed in an unprecedented partnership between the local ICT sector and scientists – voluntarily and free of charge. According to epidemiologists, if just 15% of the population (286 200) used it, that would greatly help curb the spread of the virus. However, many thought the app was created to track people and didn't want to download it. "Stop the virus with your phone" campaign had to nd a way to convince a massive number of people. It took some serious solidarity to amplify the message – the President got involved, and dozens of public and private sector partners, opinion leaders, industry experts and more worked together pro bono. As a result the campaign helped dispel misconceptions about the app, and by the end of 2020 the app was downloaded by > 290 000 users. And even a year later competing businesses are still united in communicating the message.
