Atzīmējot 60 gadu dizaina izglītības jubileju Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijā, Dizaina nodaļas mērķis bija uzsvērt dizaina procesuālo dabu - darbošanās un domāšanas veidu, kā arī aplūkot nodaļas mantojumu un meistarību. Reprezentējot nodaļas daudzslāņaino raksturu, svinības tika atzīmētas ar pasākumu ciklu, kā arī publikāciju. Seši autori aplūkoja dizaina izglītības attīstību, katram reektējot par vienu no gadu desmitgadēm, akcentējot būtiskākos notikumus gan izglītībā, gan iezīmējot vēstriski politiskās norises valstī. Arī publikācijas dizains veidots kā atsauce uz procesu. Katrai desmitgadei veltīta sava izmēra burtnīca, reprezentējot izaugsmi un nepārtrauktu virzību. Jubilejas identitātes, izdevuma formas un graskā risinājuma iedvesma meklējama idejā par radošā procesa sākumposmu — skiču bloki, piezīmju lapiņas, kolāžas. Šīs lietas veido katra dizainera darba gaitas arhīvu, kas paliek līdzās turpmākajā radošajā procesā dzīves garumā un kalpo kā spēcīgs iedvesmas avots.
Marking 60 years of design education at the Art Academy of Latvia, the aim was to emphasize the procedural nature of design - a way of working and thinking, as well as to look at the heritage and craftsmanship of the department. Representing the multi-layered department, the celebration was marked with a series of events as well as a publication. 6 authors looked at the development of design education, each reecting on one of the decades, emphasizing the most important events both in education and political developments in the country. The design is also a reference to the process. Each decade is has its own size notebook, representing growth and continuous progress. The inspiration for the anniversary identity, the form of the edition and the graphic solution can be found in the idea of the initial stage of the creative process – sketchpads, collages. These things form an archive of designer's work, which serves as a powerful source of inspiration throughout ones creative life.
